The Circum Baikal Railway, “the Golden buckle” of the legendary Russian Trans-Siberian Railway is a unique monument to the art of construction. It is well-known all over the world. It ranks first in Russia and one of the first in the world in quantity of engineering structures – the number of tunnels, galleries, viaducts, bridges strikes any imagination. Moreover, the railway goes along the Lake Baikal shore and it gives a wonderful chance to admire fantastic lake views. The excursion allows taking walking tours during three stops – at Cape Tolsty, near Shumikha village and at Cape Polovinny.
Peschanaya Bay is one of the most famous and picturesque places on Lake Baikal. The Bay is known as Baikal Riviera, and it is proclaimed a natural monument. There is no any overland road to Peschanaya Bay. You see some Lake Baikal natural phenomena – gorgeous beaches, taiga slopes that descend down to the water edge, unique stilted trees!
